It’s a great light wind blasting machine.” Shape Details The shapes are based on the slalom board concept but tuned to suit the demand and physical strength of performance-oriented recreational windsurfers. As such, these totally new Super Sports feature several elements of our Slalom line: Being shorter they feel more compact now. The parallel outline maximises the planing surface at the mast base lifting the boards onto the plane instantly. The centred swing weight gives great top end control. The deck concave around the mast base lowers the pivot point of the rig for additional control. The bottom curve and V-flow of the Slalom boards were adjusted to improve the comfort and gybing ability. This efficiently contributes to the early release, loose ride and high water position. The new tail configuration creates on the one hand a wider outline at the tail while at the same time reducing the overall volume. The thinned-out rails throughout the whole board length combine comfort and efficiency. They provide tighter turns and easier gybing. Exiting the turn with speed will be as easy as going fast in a straight line. The new tail cut-outs are responsible for great release and easy trimming of the board for a fast and comfortable ride. The new tail outline and deck shape offers great leverage for better acceleration and top end performance. Overall, all these new shape features help to put the already great planing performance of the Super Sport one little notch higher. But the most noticeable improvement is the smoothness of the ride, their comfort and ease. Consequently, the boards can be set to high speed mode a lot easier and maintain this level with little effort. Also the thin rails and lower tail volume make initiating gybes at this high speed much smoother. The FLIGHT F4 EVO foil is the Formula One racing foil. With an extended fuselage length, FLIGHT F4 EVO offers improved Upwind/Downwind performance and more comfortable riding. The new tail stabilizer with a precise connection and adjustable wing angle dramatically increases stability, especially noticeable when jibing. The high-lift front carbon wing allows for early take off, great lift and generates amazing stability. Most brands simply re-use old slalom models and reduce the cutouts size and set the straps more inboard. Our development was done together with pure dedicated free-racers and some pro-riders who were amazed by the performance in powered conditions against the pure Slalom boards. The slight longer flat under the straps is the key feature for this shape and makes the board plane earlier and ride more stable and safer in the stronger gusts. SHAPE DETAILS Optical aspect & Footpad: With the new graphic aspect influenced by Italian designer Fabio Canella we are taking a new direction and be more coloured while still keep it simple. The 4mm thick over-dotted diamond groove grip pad has an extra 6mm soft sponge under-layer which makes it total 10mm and very nice and comfortable. Shape Info “short”: The extra length on the flat area under the straps forgives foot pressure mistakes and keeps the board set and blasting in the stable longitudinal direction. The outline is from the Slalom board but extended in the middle the extra length. The bottom shape is similar to the Slalom boards and run a double concaved V with stabilizing side flats running into a flat panel V under the front strap trough the tail. Shape Info “Detailed”: Scoop-Rocker: The slight extra longer flat between the straps makes the board more stable and does not react on foot pressure as quick as a slalom and is therefore more forgiving and keeps it speed more constant. Volume distribution: Even foot position for maximum performance and balanced body position. The thickness in the front strap to the nose is reduced for its lightweight while still keeping enough for flotation in non-planning conditions. Outline: The outline is identical to the same board width size as the Slalom but is extended in the center to the extra length. The slightly more parallel outline effect into a bit more stability. Bottom Shape: The double concaved V with stabilizing side flats from nose to the front strap absorb the chop and gives a comfortable ride. The flat panel V under the straps is releasing the water on the upwind rail when the board is pushed onto the leeward rail and therefore increases acceleration and speed and makes the board manoeuvring controlled trough the jibes. Rails / Tuck: The boxy rails in the strap area is comfortable and powerful to push against the fin and drive the board up to top speed and let it fly over the chop. The rails in front of the straps towards the nose are very boxy in comparison to the thickness and let the water flow of the rail low with least friction. Deck Shape: A flat deck through the whole board is the stable platform in non-planning conditions and jibes. Fin boxes: Short Tuttle box for 100, 110 and the Deep Tuttle Foil box for 120, 130, 140, 150. Inserts: Inside and outside strap position on in front and in the back with each 4x holes for individual settings. CONSTRUCTION For this board instead of the Biax Carbon used on the Slalom boards the dedicated Freeracer wished for a more impact proof material and the full Carbon/Kevlar is just the right material for lightness and extra strength. On the bottom the decision was clear and the more comfortable ride with the Biax Glass is no doubt the right choice. FAST! Control and top speed – that’s what it is all about when you want to be on the podium. The 62, 71 and 85 are designed for blasting at PWA competition speed. Also, lighter riders remain in control even when fully overpowered enabling them to get up to top speed. The brand new 85 provides better planing in light conditions. And the smallest 55 has proven its qualities on speed slalom tracks like the Defi Wind. New Shape The new 85 produces more racing power meaning earlier planing, faster acceleration and improved gybing, as it carries more speed through the turn and exits without slowing down. The biggest apparent difference which is easiest to spot is the new tail cut-out configuration. The first cut-out starts much further forward and the curve of the cut-outs increases towards the tail. The tail is re-designed for a more even water flow around the fin in order to provide steady fin pressure for permanent power and top speed. The thicker tail with the slightly reduced V provides the extra lift and power in light winds. The V in the front adds curve to the rail line and prevents the nose from catching in straight lines and gybes. Five core design elements guarantee the perfect set-up for PWA racing: DUAL TAIL OUTLINES – individually adjusted to each board size. The bottom outline features a new cut-out configuration reducing the wetted surface and creating multiple release points for low drag and high speed. The deck outline over the cut-outs is wider and due to the further outboard rear strap position the rider can load more power onto the fin for more control and speed. TRANSFORMING VEE FLOW along the bottom – the Vee is strongly pronounced in front of the mast base, decreasing between the foot straps and opening again towards the tail. Thus, the board rides high and loose, ironing out all the chop. The transforming V results in a curvy rail line which makes gybing smoother and helps to exit the turn at full speed. COMPACT CONCEPT – The parallel outline in the mid-section of the board maximises the planing surface at the mast base, lifting the boards onto the plane instantly. THIN PROFILE – in the nose area reduces drag since this is the part which is affected most by the wind. This in combination with a sunken deck means we managed to keep the swing weight centred for great top end control. DECK SHAPES – are designed to produce maximum pressure and feel totally connected and in control. The concave deck reduces the swing weight and lowers the rig position for improved control. The 55 and 62 come with the normal Tuttlebox. The 71 and 85 feature specially reinforced boxes fitting foils with Deep Tuttle base. + close
